We finally completed our application form last night for the Surrogacy organisation! What an experience that was. The most interesting part was the full medical – we were poked, prodded, swabbed and sampled from head to toe! It was quite the experience actually, and I’ll spare you the details except to say we’re both healthy guys
So the application form has been sent and we now wait to confirm we’ve been ‘accepted’ and for an estimated date for when we can go to India for our live transfer. That means we’re planning on making the cake with fresh ingredients, instead of freezing to transfer later (similar to packet mix I guess). We’re planning on mixing the ingredients and putting the cake into the (Indian) oven at the end of October, but that all depends on how we go with signing contracts, organising flights and most importantly, the cycle of our Egg Donor. Would prefer more certainty at the moment, but will have to relinquish some control and just let the process unfold.
I haven’t told my family we’re planning on going over in October. I wonder if they realised it would be this quick? Feels like it’s taking a lifetime.
Best of luck with your journey to fatherhood boys. We are a couple of Melbourne boys ourselves and we have two beautiful children through Indian surrogacy who are now 3 months old xox
